The Tusculum City Park is closed for the winter for reservations.

Tusculum Recyle has been temporarily stopped due to the COVIT-19 impact.

 The City of Tusculum provides free weekly residential garbage pickup.  This will require all residents to purchase a Trash Tote Cart for $75.00.  Purchase can be made at the City Hall where you can pick it up or have it delivered.


According to ConsumerAffairs.Com, the City of Tusculum is the 7th safest City and is #2 on the "Top 10 Burglary Safe Zones" in Tennessee.

The City of Tusculum now has a DEA Drug Drop Box in our City Hall to allow you to safely dispose of your old prescription medicine rather than flushing it into the local sewer system.

Tusculum is a city in Greene County, Tennessee.  The City of Tusculum was chartered on May 12, 1959 and is governed by an elected Mayor and two comissioners, one of which serves as Vice-Mayor.  Tusculum's roots go back to the founding of Tennessee's oldest college, Tusculum College, making the city "First in Education".  Founded in 1794, Tusculum College is the oldest college in Tennessee and the 28th oldest in the nation.

The City of Tusculum is 4.5 square miles in area with a population of 2663 (2010 census). The City has 28 miles of roadway with two major state highways running through it.  Traffic is heavy with over 40,000 cars a day passing through.  Traffic is related to the number of schools within the city limits being Doak Elementary School, Chuckey Doak Middle School, Chuckey Doak High School, and Tusculum College.

The City maintains a park with a pavillion that can be rented for special occasions and a linear walking trail that spans 8 miles of scenic beauty as it winds through the campus of Tusculum College and along  Moon Creek adjacent to the Tusculum Bypass.

City services include a police department, street repair and maintenance, and a limited recycling program.  Fire protection is provided by the Tusculum Volunteer Fire Department.

  • Ensure the tax payers' dollars are spent in the most economical and prudent fashion, staying within the guidelines set forth by the Mayor and Commissioners, keeping in mind the public's trust in this office to account for every dollar spent.
